If you’re like us, you’re already gearing up for what’s sure to be a fun 4th of July celebration. Of course, if it feels like the summertime holiday has crept up on you, know that you’re not alone. Many folks wait until the last minute to stock up on snacks and barbecue essentials for America’s birthday. But, considering not all grocery stores are open on the day of, you’ll want to ensure that your favorite chain—say, Safeway—is up and running for all your Sunday, July 4, party needs.

While many people might assume that Safeway is simply a place to shop for BBQ seasoning, condiments, meats, buns, salad ingredients, fresh fruit, and the like, thanks to the store’s Floral and Wine, Beer, and Spirits departments, it’s also a place to stock up on decor and adult beverages. And with a dedicated Fourth of July section, Safeway helps take the guesswork out of your entire meal prep.

This is all to say, everyone hopes Safeway is accessible for all their Fourth of July needs but the real question remains ...

.. is Safeway Open on the 4th of July?

Whether you forgot something in your pre-holiday prep or haven’t had a chance to run to the store until the morning of the Fourth, you’ll be glad to know that Safeway is open with its regular store hours on Independence Day. While normal hours are from 8 AM to 9 PM, Drive Up and Go Hours—which are specifically for order-ahead groceries—close at 8 PM. Of course, some stores might vary based on location, so it’s always a good idea to check your local store’s hours before making the trip.
