We made it! The new year is here, and we're so excited to usher in 2023. Now, we might have some New Year's resolutions, like saving money and eating healthier by trying to cook more at home, but we all know that the resolution officially starts on January 2! So for today, give yourself time to rest and recover, and go out to eat (or, better yet, pick up takeout) from your favorite restaurants. Of course, as with any major holidays, you need to consider if your favorite spot is open, so be sure to check this list.
Maybe this year you're focusing on the big New Year's lunch with all of the lucky foods, like black-eyed peas, you're supposed to have on New Year's Day. Then give yourself a break by picking up breakfast or dinner and avoiding all of the piles of dishes. We always recommend checking with your local restaurant before you set out, as some locations may be observing limited hours due to the holiday.
This year, New Year's Day falls on a Sunday, so some restaurants that would normally be open (we're looking at you, Chick-fil-A) will be closed because they're always closed on Sundays.
Open: Golden Corral
Looking for a crowd-pleaser? The Golden Corral buffet is the way to go. Everyone in the family will find something to eat from their extensive selection.
Open: Krispy Kreme
You'll be ready to face 2023 if you start the year with a dozen donuts from Krispy Kreme.

Chinese food? Yes, please. Panda Express locations around the country will be open on New Year's Day and operating under normal hours.

Good news! Most Chili's restaurants will be open regular hours on New Year's Day 2023.

Fact: If your first meal of 2023 is pizza, you're in for a wonderful year. Luckily, Domino's is open to make it easy to indulge!
