If you're like us, you're probably getting ready for one of two things: either a grand New Year's lunch with friends and family, or you're thinking about the week ahead and have to do some major grocery shopping. If Costco is your favorite place to shop for groceries and last-minute items, you're probably wondering the superstore will be open on January 1 since many stores will be closed for the holiday.
Is Costco open on New Year's Day 2023?
Costco is only closed seven days of the year, and January 1 is one of them. But unlike many other businesses, including banks, Costco only recognizes the actual holiday, which is Sunday, not when it's observed (Monday). So, it will be open on January 2, operating with normal business hours.
However, you'll want to call your location store before you head out, especially if you're needing to hit up the pharmacy, as it may operate differently than the main store.
For all of your grocery needs, you can still shop places such as Publix, Walmart, Whole Foods, and Wegmans.
