Sunday Supper: Miranda Lambert's Tex-Mex Mainstays
The singer-songwriter and cookbook author knows a thing or two about laid-back entertaining.
Miranda Lambert, country singer and author of Y'all Eat Yet?, husband Brendan, her mom Bev, and beloved ya-yas Neicy, Vicki, and Heidi can often be found gathered around the table. "We're not the fanciest or the bougiest, but we are—unequivocally—the funniest," Miranda says. "One of the things I love about Tex-Mex—like these Oven Brisket Tacos—is how it merges two worlds, two cultures. The Elotes (grilled street corn) and the Casa Wedge Salad are riffs on dishes served at Casa Rosa, my Nashville restaurant."

“In Texas, salsa is the fifth condiment,” says Country star Miranda Lambert. “There's salt, pepper, ketchup, mustard, salsa. It’s also a signal: Get ready for fun.”
Locomotive Margarita
Give this easy sipper a try—it's the drink Miranda likes to make when guests drop by. “Getting the opportunity to make someone a drink is a wonderful thing, because it gives me a chance to get to know them, to hear about their life and what makes them happy,” says Lambert. “Songwriters are only as good as the people they meet and the stories they hear.”
The Casa Wedge Salad
We love a good wedge salad for dinner, and this Tex-Mex inspired version isn't just good, it's great! Mexican Cotija cheese is milder than blue, and the creamy avocado dressing just can't be beat!
Elotes (Mexican Street Corn)
Flavorful grilled corn is covered in mayo, sour cream, spices, lime juice, and cheese. It's unbelievably good, and such a warm-weather staple that we find ourselves making it all summer long. Whether you grew up eating Elotes from a local vendor or just want to shake up your cooked corn routine, we can't recommend this recipe enough.
Oven Brisket Tacos
This Texas-style taco recipe is a Sunday dinner to be reckoned with! Combining the best of two cuisines — Texas style brisket and Mexican tacos — this Tex-Mex staple is a mainstay for Miranda. (The blue table runner is from her Wanda June line at Walmart!)
