If you're not already on the shiplap bandwagon after seeing Joanna Gaines use the wooden planks in nearly all of her designs, then this bathroom may finally get you on board.

With just $91, blogger Carrie Corwine Wilson of Curb to Refurb transformed her dark and dreary basement bathroom into a bright and airy space fit for a beautiful country home. The overhaul proves there's nothing $100—and a statement shiplap wall—can't improve.

Before, the bathroom felt cramped and gloomy. The room only contains one small source of natural light—a window opposite the shower, so the dark walls and oak cabinet made it feel even more compact. The paint color, light fixture, sink cabinetry, and accessories also felt outdated.

After Carrie primed the walls and added some chalk paint to the cabinetry, she added the big feature: a wall of shiplap. This farmhouse-inspired focal point tied together the rest of the rustic pieces Carried crafted for the space.

To add some texture and interest, Carried used pieces of driftwood and tree bark to fashion shelves, racks, and even a one-of-a-kind frame for the bathroom mirror. And here's the best part—Carried sourced all the wood required to make these decor pieces for free.
