They say that in baseball and in life, "all the important things happen at home." That's especially true for famous athletes of the sport, such as Cal Ripken Jr., whose Reisterstown, Maryland, estate goes up for auction this spring.
The 21,890-square-foot mansion owned by the Major League Baseball player is situated on 24.38 acres—and starting Saturday, May 12 at 11 a.m. EST., it will go to the highest bidder.
Money reports that 13301 Dover Rd. property was on the market for a year, first priced at $12 million in September 2016 and then $9.75 million in April 2017. In August, the listing was removed. Now, DeCaro Auctions is handling the on-site sale, which is without reserve (meaning no minimum price is required).
There appears to be a pond and—naturally—a baseball diamond on the property. Would you expect any less of the Orioles legend?
