First Pantone declared "Ultra Violet" the color of 2018, then Pinterest deemed that sage would dominate interior design this year. Now HGTV HOME by Sherwin-Williams is calling their own 2018 color of the year and it might look a little familiar to anyone who redecorated their kitchen in the ‘70s or ‘90s.

Honeycomb is an “energetic, golden hue that radiates warmth to liven up any space,” according to Sherwin-Williams.

If the bold color has you doing a double take, it’s probably because it looks nearly the same as “Harvest Gold,” a color that was everywhere in the ‘70s.

It also made a comeback in the ‘90s when Tuscan-inspired kitchens were all the rage.

But instead of pairing it with rustic browns and earthy greens, like in past decades, Sherwin-Williams recommends pairing the dark gold color this time around with a bright teal called “Capri” as well as a raspberry shade of purple and a grassy green for a more modern twist on the earthy tone.

These bold color pairings are a big departure for HGTV HOME by Sherwin-Williams, considering that their 2017 color collection of the year featured nothing brighter than a sage green and was dominated by cool shades of beige, gray and taupe.

But if honeycomb isn't for you, the brand also released three more color palettes the predict will also be everywhere in 2018. "Next Journey" is a collection of blues and rusty oranges, "inspired by rare earths, the night sky, and places unknown."

"Individual Mix" is an even brighter palette full of lime green, fuchsia and orange.

If you're looking for something a little softer, "Thoughtful Living" will appeal to anyone who wants to create a calm and cozy space in their home with shades of cream and pink.
